Ack! Kicking the tires …

Things that confuse me so far about this blog:

1. It looks like I needed to approve you guys’ comments to make them appear. I’d like to skip that pre-approval step in the interest of faster gratification.

2. I don’t know why the first post was dated May 2007??

3. Has anybody registered successfully yet? I just talked to Cole onna phone, and he was going to try.

4. I’d like to tart up the appearance, but I haven’t figured out how to upload themes.

  1. Looks from my administrator e-mails like Paul and Cole have registered successfully. Can you fellas create new posts now? And can you post comments to existing posts without pre-approval?

Oh, and can you explain to Dave Ellison how you registered, ’cause he couldn’t find the link?

  2. This is a totally cool idea!

I was an art student at Third College and a Che cafe regular; they served a bowl of rice and beans and with spike it was a totally filling, nutritious and tasty dish that a compact dude like the I could burn all day long.

I was also the drummer for Elvis Christ, and we played many crucial shows at the Che, including the Ready To Shred! Skate club benefits- every year they had to disassemble and rebuild their ramp for insurance purposes.

My favorite part about rocking the Che was that when it got really cooking, the kids could swing from the rafters!

Now that was good clean fun, and nobody ever got hurt.

  3. Jack! Welcome aboard! I lived off those rice and beans for a while, and I was indeed far more compact in those days.

  4. Update: I fixed the May 2007 date weirdness … I made the logo LSD orange … I created some new categories …

Most importantly, I’ve tried to make every registrant’s default status “Editor,” which I hope means y’all can comment and post directly without my approval. Try it out!

  5. Elvis Christ! Awesome band! B-b-b-b-b-b-baby…
I saw you guys at the Spirit the night you introduced Dave Anderson’s comedy act to the world (1989?). Later that eve we had to whisk Dave away as somebody wanted to beat on him…they tore his shirt, but no-one was hurt..

  6. Jack Gamboa! We worked together for awhile--must have been at the Guild, the old cinema on 5th in Hillcrest. If I have that right, it would have been 1985. You were a charismatic figure to me. I’m glad to hear your voice here.
