Snare was such a funny zine, how many issues were there of snare? The issue i have (need to dig it up) but in the record reviews, i forget the bands name but the album was titled "drinking my own sperm" and Dan's review was something like "it gets 5 stars just for the title". I was like 17 when this came out, i was expecting normal reviews, so that was new for me. Then he'd draw pictures of the band members for interviews, with one blank saying "wasn't available for photo" I know it doesn't sound funny how I'm explaining it, but i just thought "wow, this is fucking cool and this guy's just doing it his own way".

I've just found a series of almost unbelievably comprehensive articles on downtown theaters (prior to gentrification) and the company who ran them, along with other related subjects (a history of drive-in theaters in SD, and a history of the Pussycat theater chain). I worked at the Bijoux Theater on 5th for a brief time around 1985 for the very strange company who owned these theaters, Walnut Properties. The article has many photos of downtown SD as we knew it, including the legendary Funland arcade.
