The Milk Carton: Lost, missing and wayward punks.

...and sundry and various mods, skins, rockabillys and whatever else you want to throw into the mix.

So my old website was all about locating people you'd lost contact with from the various underground music scenes back in the day. My site was at one time super huge, but after it got shut down (I wasn't internet savvy enough to have it backed up) I never really got it off the ground again.

At the time of it's demise literally hundreds of people had used it to get back in touch with people from their pasts. The internet makes that super convenient (for example, how Kristen just mentioned wondering where Greg Shushan is in another thread and it just so happens that he and I spoke a year or so ago and caught up on some old times.)

So I'll start this off with our old drummer, Dan- when was the last time anyone saw Dan Mehlos, drummer for Personal Conflict, Men of Clay, and the Front?

I shot a note off to Greg today. I'll go through my various accounts and see who else is out there.

Where is Larry Nadler? We were close friends since we met at the Lion's Club in 1980. He went to all the punk shows and parties as well as mod events. He went to Stanford in 1981 but came back to SD often and moved back in '85. He moved overseas for a while in the late 80s and the last I time I saw him was at my wedding in 1990 at Balboa Park.

Bottom L to R: Larry, ?, Dennis Borleck, Patti Cates, Kristina Harrell
Top: ?, me, BOB, Mike Gomes
Year? Perhaps '81 or '82

Here's Larry in front of Perkin's Palace for The Jam show. He had the jacket made and got it autographed by some of The Who.

So is this for punks only? 'Cause I'd really like to know where Tashina (nee Wendy) went but she wasn't a punk.

Wow! Toby's site lists all the members of Papa Wheelie, the bad-ass band of Ohio girls who with their friends formed the original core of MacWEEK magazine's support team in SF in the late '80s. (I worked at MacWEEK 1989-2000.)

(Different Papa Wheelie from this Jason Newsted vehicle. Here's Tami Gargus, one of two rockin' Gargus sisters from the SF Papa Wheelie.)

The Sacred tapes made it down under along with the Manifest D stuff with the Les Paul....spread the infection

Mark good for you man , sounds like you have settled with the past and moved on to better things . I have a fairly new son and being a father is pretty crazy , I can't imagine 3 times over .

Those Bomber guys all scatered to the wind once real crimes and real punishment started happening , regardless if you were smart or just lucky , count your blessings that you made it out and away from that scene when you did .

I remember that class , I was dating Tina then , and that's how I met you originally ( through her I think ) . We just crashed it and got to watch tons of great / weird / interesting movies all day , then talk about it later . That was actually a lot of fun .

Anyhow , let me know if you ever do want one of those originals next time you're in town . I'm easy to find , just call me at the shop .
